There is North Entrance that is 3 miles for the town of Twentynine palms and the south entrance where you take the exit 168 east of Indio.

If you opt for a hotel, the best option will be at the Palm Springs which offers spaces for families. You could also try the Pioneertown Motel or Twentynine Palms. It is advised that you visit their websites and compare their prices as well as the facilities that they have before you opt for a hotel you will like to stay in.

There is also the option of staying at a trailer park — several trailers are surrounding a swimming pool and the Kate’s Lazy desert Airstream Hotel. Many people opt for this to add spice to their adventure. You should, however, be in a group if you are choosing to stay in this place. The security may be confirmed, but you should never take chances. It would also be more fun staying in a trailer and having bonfire nights with friends than all alone.
